Alconbury Thursday Club

Started in 1984, the Thursday Club meets in the Alconbury Sports Pavilion where the members can enjoy a beautiful traditional English view of a village cricket pitch with the village church in the background. The set up is much the same as for the Sawtry Day Centre with two members of staff and a team of volunteers.

The Thursday Club serves the villages surrounding Alconbury, just South of Sawtry and is staffed by people from those village. Meals are cooked on site.

The Club members enjoy a wide range of activities which include entertainers coming in from time to time to sing or play. The staff also organise a number of coach outings each year to a variety of suitable places for a meal.

Although the Thursday Club does not meet in the CARESCO Centre, they are still very much part of CARESCO and receive their funding through the central organisation.
